Your club and its teams
A team in TAP is yours, not the organizer’s: you found it in the Player Hub, you manage who is in it, and the captain enters it for tournaments as a whole. It outlives the tournament.
Club and squad
Section titled “Club and squad”Two levels, and most of the time you only see one:
- the club — the name, the tag, the crest;
- the squad — the people who actually play, per discipline.
A club you found has exactly one squad, and then the app never says the word “squad” at all. The level only appears once there is a second one.
A second team
Section titled “A second team”On your club’s page there is “Add a second team” — a reserve or academy side of the same club. You are asked for the name only; the discipline is the club’s. Before you confirm, the dialog shows what it will be called in a tournament: “Nordlichter II”.
A second team enters tournaments on its own, has its own members, and can play in a different division than the first.
Renaming and dissolving are on the same page (the gear next to the squad). Two things it refuses, both on purpose:
- a squad that is entered in a tournament is not dissolved — the answer names the tournament. Otherwise nobody could tell later whose second team played there.
- your club’s last squad stays: a club without a squad cannot do anything.
Renaming does not rewrite the past: a tournament you already entered keeps the name you entered under.
The same player in both
Section titled “The same player in both”You may be a member of both squads. In one tournament only one of them can field you — the second entry is refused, naming who it is. Across different tournaments there is no limit: the first team can play the top division while the second plays a lower one.
That is why the entry dialog shows one line per squad, and greys out a squad that is already in this tournament or has nobody in it yet — see Joining a tournament.
