Joining a tournament

On the Tournaments tab in Discover you can search and filter tournaments (All/Open/Live/Mine).

Joining

On a tournament under “Open for registration” you tap “Join”. A dialog asks “Who is entering?” — you yourself, or one of your teams (only teams that match the discipline and that you can manage) — with an optional note. “Request to join” sends the request; the organizer approves or rejects it, and the status then shows under “My tournaments”.

If your club has more than one squad in this discipline, each one is its own line — “Nordlichter” and “Nordlichter II” — and that is also the name it will carry in the tournament. A squad is shown but not selectable when it is already in this tournament, or when nobody has accepted a place in it yet: an entry the organizer would have to refuse is not offered.

Note

The same person may be in both of your squads. In one tournament only one of them can field them — the second entry is refused, naming who it is. Across different tournaments there is no such limit: your first team can play the top division while your second plays a lower one.

Note

If the field is already full and there’s a waitlist, the dialog tells you before you submit: “The field is full — you would go on the waiting list.”

Caution

If the tournament requires a verified identity and you don’t have one linked yet, a notice appears above the form telling you to link it in your profile first (see Linked accounts) — right now only Steam counts.

A public tournament that isn’t currently open for entry still shows up under “Browse public tournaments” — you can follow it, but not join. Private tournaments you’re not part of at all never appear in Discover.
