Formats & rules per match

You configure match rules under Rules (/dashboard/configs).

At the top of the page you choose who the rule applies to: “Tournament default” (the fallback for the whole tournament) or a single stage. A stage with its own rule shows a “Reset to default” link.

If there’s no rule yet, “Configure rules” opens a wizard — or you can pick one of the suggested presets directly (by sport, or for esports e.g. Bo1/Bo3/Bo5, two maps with a draw, one ban per map).

The wizard starts with the format:

  • A series of maps/games (typical for esports) — Length (best-of or a fixed count) → Maps & bans (map pool, then the ban steps, if any) → Review.
  • Sets and points — best-of/fixed count, points per set, deuce/golden point, serve rotation every N points.
  • A running clock — match duration, overtime.

Every finished rule shows tiles like “Maps to win”, “Decided by: Veto/Report”, “Bans per side” — with a “Not set here” callout: the map pool and veto order come from the discipline, “result must be confirmed” is a tournament setting, and which stage plays which format is decided on the Stages page.

For any single match, the first rule that applies wins, in this order: Match → Stage → Tournament default → Discipline. On the match page you can see where each value came from, and override it there directly.
