Participants, groups, and stages

On Players (/dashboard/players) there are three ways to add someone:

  • Create Player — first name, last name, email (optional), team assignment.
  • Invite Player — same fields, but email is required here: the person gets a real invitation instead of being added directly.
  • Import — add several players at once.

The list shows status pills: Invited (not accepted yet), Unconfirmed (has a TAP-ID, but hasn’t confirmed this email address), TAP ID (linked account).

You form teams on Teams (/dashboard/teams) from the players you’ve already added, if your discipline is played in teams.

The actual tournament structure — group stage, knockout, double elimination, Swiss, league — is set up on Stages (/dashboard/stages), not when you create the tournament.

  1. “Add stage” → pick a stage type: Group Stage, Single Elimination, Double Elimination, Loser Bracket, Swiss System, League Table.
  2. Configure type-specific options — e.g. which earlier stage feeds a bracket, the grand-final advantage for double elimination, the number of rounds for Swiss.
  3. Assign participants (by drag, or “Seed from standings” if an earlier stage already has a table).
  4. “Generate games” / “Generate bracket” / “Generate round N” (Swiss) creates the actual matches.

For a single extra match — a showmatch, a replay — there’s the “Single match” button in the Stages toolbar: it creates one game without touching the stage’s generator or bracket.
